Enjoy AT&T Mobile TV on the LG Vu's brilliantly colorful 3-inch interactive touchscreen. | AT&T Service Options This AT&T phone can handle high-speed data connectivity via AT&T's 3G mobile broadband data network, which is available in most major metropolitan areas. The AT&T 3G network uses the dual-band UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900 MHz network (also known as WCDMA), making it possible to enjoy a variety of feature-rich wireless multimedia services with speeds up to 3.6 Mbps. It also gives AT&T the advantage of offering simultaneous voice and data services. In areas where the 3G network is not available, you'll continue to receive service on the AT&T EDGE network, which offers availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. Providing average data speeds between 75-135Kbps, it's fast enough to support a wide range of advanced data services, including video and music clips, full picture and video messaging, high-speed color Internet access, and email on the go. You'll also enjoy quad-band GSM connectivity, which allows you to make calls in more than 190 countries and access data applications in the more than 135 countries where AT&T offers international data roaming. With 3G connectivity, you'll be able to access AT&T's Video Share service, which enables you to send a live, one-way video stream to another compatible phone during a standard voice call. The service also allows you to switch the direction of the video stream during the same phone call. (Customers must be in an area served by the company's 3G network and have a Video Share-enabled phone.) You get access to AT&T Mobile Music, which enables you to buy tracks while on the go, access the Napster and eMusic subscription music services, stream music video, discover what's playing with Music ID song-recognition software, and find out what's hot with The Buzz music news portal. And it has a built-in web browser for MEdia Net downloads and mobile web browsing. AT&T's MEdia Net service enables you to receive and send emails, read news headlines, get weather updates, download games and ringtones, and more. Note that if you want to enjoy the full audio and video capabilities of your UMTS phone, be sure to select a MEdia Max service plan option during checkout. If you do not sign up for a MEdia Max service plan option, you will be paying per KB when you use the over-the-air UMTS audio and video features on your phone (upwards of $10 per minute).

So far, so good, we shall see what happens... December 1, 2008 Just got this little LG, and here are my thoughts. -Very clear voice calls -Great speaker and the people on the other end can't tell I'm on the speaker while I am driving -The touch screen is really bright, and pictures show great -Getting used to the touch screen, but the feedback feature is really handy for me -Reception so far has been great, only one lost call in an area that I know is a deadspot -Didn't think I'd care for the TV feature, but it is very cool, and great for killing time at airports and while visiting my mom who doesn't have a tv in the spare rooms. The screen is really sharp and the picture really shows well, even if a bit small.
Like I said, so far, so good...the only negatives are: the world time doesn't adjust automatically when I reach a foreign country and as a result I can't use the phone as my alarm clock abroad (that is a very useful feature on a lot of phones), I also cannot use my recordings from my music downloads or voice recordings as my ringtones, and last but not least is that there is no flash on the camera (but I knew that before I got the phone).
Overall, I am very satisfied with it as a phone, which is why I NEED it. All the extra stuff, to me is just that...extra. This may keep me as an AT&T customer.
lgvu November 20, 2008 update: now that i hear at&t is releasing a lg vu wine colored edition, with updated software and numerous bug fixes, i wonder if we with the black phones are going to be left in the dark. other then some exceptions like the iphone and windows media phones, at&t is the worst when it comes to firmware updates. has anyone with a view ever gotten a firmware update? according to at&t dev the latest firmware for the vu is "v10p-sep-26"
i got this phone mostly because it was for 1 cent, i kind of wanted the iphone, htc touch pro, etc but i could not afford them
you really have to check the tv coverage before buying this. the tv uses mediaflo, which is sent over uhf channel 55, and if you are not in a mediaflo area, you have no idea if it will ever come to you. media flo has been buying up frequencies lately, and you might get lucky and be able to get at&t mobile tv in your area but not until feb 2009 when the analong broadcast system shuts down.
the mediaflo channels are not the same live channels that you get with cable or sattellite, so if you are away from home, and you want to watch the new southpark, you won't get it, instead you will get a repeat.
the good thing about that, is that you will always have something to watch 24 hours a day, and no late night infomercials, that are being broadcasted on the live channels
the mediaflo guide only goes 48 hours
i have read about the lexus bluetooth
when i connect it to the prius, which uses the toyota bluetooth system, i do not get signal strength or battery level on the display screen, but unlike the lexus posts i read, i do get ringing over the audio system.
transfer call from phone to bluetooth system and back works.

LG Vu CU920 November 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great phone if you want to get the feel like a iphone. Battery life sucks Shutting off 3G just about doubles the battery life. You can follow the instruction from other reviews. The QWERTY keyboard is fantastic, but if you have big hand it will be hard to type but works just like the iphone. Internet and TV works great but it sucks up the battery life. The touch screen vibrate which you can turn it off because it is annoying. The phone does charge fast then other phones I owned. If you click on the unlock it will let you know how much it is charge or when it is fully charge. You cannot talk on the phone while it is charging.
LG Vu CU920 TV phone November 11, 2008 On a scale of 1-10 .I think the product is an 8. would recommend it to a friend.
