Small and comfortable November 14, 2008 I purchased the Blackberry headset after my Jawbone kept falling off my ear. The fit is excellent, and you can wear this for hours and forget it is there. The sound quality is average, but just as good as most other headsets I have tried. (The Jawbone is in a league of its own on sound quality.) The shirt clip is an excellent idea, but the ear buds (and ear loop) fall off easily, which can ruin your day. My problem is the battery life: I have my headset on for 8 hours/day, and use it for business. The battery rarely last the full day, and I fully charge it every night. This is a great headset for an occasional cell phone talker, but not for all-day use.
Not worth the money, use as a back up only November 3, 2008 I purchased this earpiece after losing my Plantronics 925. Each listener said the sound was horrible and it produced a lot of static and it was uncomfortable to wear, actually made my ear sore. I waited too late to return it to Amazon so it will serve as my backup in case I lose the Blue Ant z9i that i recently purchased...which I like a bunch but again it's the ear thing, can't seem to get it to angle the way it needs to for optimal performance. To be honest thus far in my BT experience the Plantronics 925 was the best, just couldn't keep it in my ear...perhaps the next generation P925 will have an earhook.
Great Bluetooth For The Price October 31, 2008 I have tried approximately 10 different bluetooth headsets over the past few years, and for the price this headset is a really good deal.
While my absolute favorite is the Jabra II, this headset (approximately $50 cheaper) works better than I expected with my Blackberry Pearl.
In a quiet environment the sound quality is almost as good as my Jabra. The setup was easy and fast and the 3 charging options are a bonus. The headset is very lightweight, fits my ear well and is extremely comfortable. I am happy with the volume and my callers report that they didn't even know I was using a headset.
I have not experienced the ear gel working loose from the headset, but I can see that the connection is not as tight as I might wish. I may use a tiny dot of super glue to secure the gel to the headset if I experience this problem.
As with my other bluetooth headsets, proximity of the phone to the earpiece is important and keeping your phone on the same side of your body as the earpiece provides better connectivity.
I recently tested 4 different headsets that I paid at least $70 to $90 for and this headset works better than any of those.
Fun Bluetooth with Solid Performance September 23, 2008 This unit comes with three different earpieces to help fit most ears - everyone out there with significantly smaller ears (those that have trouble with standard iPod earbuds) might find the smallest earpiece a little larger than they would like. When the unit is in its psuedo-case, it vibrates, which is fun, if nothing else for the casual Bluetooth user. Knowing what I know now, I would buy this again because it's clear and powerful enough for casual use (<15 feet away).
Sound isn't good and poor design August 17, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought one of these for my wife and one for me. I thought it would be great since it had a carrying case. With the case I thought there would be less likelyhood of misplacing the bluetooth. The problem is the way it fits into the carrying case, you really can't clip it on your belt or the edge of your pants without causing the earpiece to come loose and fall off along with the ear hook. Consequently you end of having to stick not only the carrying case but also the bluetooth in your pocket so you don't lose it. However when you carry it in yor pocket, the earpiece and ear loop will also work loose causing you to have to quickly snap it back together so you can take a phone call. It's nice that you can switch out earpiece sizes but it comes apart way too easy. The sound quality when listening to other people isn't good. It makes their voices sound distorted when compared to less expensive earpieces. The battery doesn't last long either. I'm not on the phone all day, maybe 2 hours on a long day but I have yet to get through an entire day without needing to recharge it. On the upside, it charges on a mini usb charger so it uses the same charger as my phone and the blue tooth unit is extremely small. My wife who says I am hard on things like phones and earpieces says hers works just fine for her. I plan on returning mine, she plans on keeping hers. This is the first bluetooth she has used on a consistant basis and likes the fact that she can have it on and listen to her media player on her phone while she is working, whereas I have owned several earpieces and I am more concerned about overall functionality. I am getting a Blueant Z9i and will let you know how that one works out.
