good value for an entry level set December 4, 2008 I ordered this product through Amazon when the price hit $31 (free shipping). As this was my first bluetooth set, I didn't want to too much. Reviews here on Amazon made this sound like an attractive set. So far, it has met my minimal expectations. Pairing the item with a Samsung phone went smooth and the call clarity is very solid. The piece that hooks over the ear does not seem suited for extended wear, however. I only use the headset in the car (about 40 minutes to/from work); wearing much longer than that would probably be uncomfortable. The fit is snug and the thing weighs almost nothing. If you are looking for the convenience of hands free calling (or live in a state the requires such when driving) this is worth money.
Cancels some wind, good for the price December 4, 2008 I have owned many a bluetooth earpieces, and this is one of the highest quality ones to date. The device fits snugly on my ear, and no worries about slippage once it is in my ear. The device claims to reduce wind noise, but walking around the streets of Philadelphia in the winter time, the receiver of the call still complains about wind in the background. I guess it is just too windy sometimes.
This device works well with my iPhone, and connects to the Playstation 3 flawlessly. I like the device for its look, but it is slightly larger than most ear pieces. It's one solid piece, so what you see is what you get. It does not fold so carrying it in the pocket is nuisance for it's size.
Keep in mind though that this ear piece will have to go into the ear canal, so it is kind of nasty to share with friends.
I mainly use this bluetooth piece with the PS3 now and there have been no problems. The chats go through clearly, and I can hear my friends online crystal clear with no static.
Plantronics make great stuff..and you can't go wrong with this.
Works very well, and a real bargain December 3, 2008 Up front; this is only the second Bluetooth headset I've owned. The first one was an expensive Jabra model I bought maybe 18 months ago. It had poor volume, and was *very* uncomfortable. I never used it much because of those issues. I had read a number of reviews of the Aliph, the BlueAnt, and a number of others, but decided to try the Voyager 520 due to its ratings and very low price. What a great surprise -- this is a NICE headset! It has very good volume, it's very light and comfortable, and the people on the other end usually don't even know I'm speaking to them over a headset. Also, it paired almost instantly with my LG Chocolate 3. Have I mentioned it's comfortable? I can't stress that enough... Plantronics has done a great job with the soft, pivoting over-the-ear arm, and the soft rubber doo-hicky that makes contact with your ear canal. Not that I'd *want* to wear this all day, but I easily could. Thumbs up all around.
A good value November 30, 2008 Comfortable and priced right, this headset works well with my Blackberry 8310 most of the time. Significant interference noise occurs at seemingly random times, but I suspect this is due to the Blackberry.
Wound up returning November 30, 2008 I often had to much static in my ear to hear anyone clearly. And while people listening to me could hear and understand, if I switched to the phone itself they'd say with relief, "Oh, that's much better."
Also, the earbud wasn't very comfortable for longer conversations--though I know people with bigger ears who really like this style earbud.
Am wondering if there are any truly good bluetooth headsets out there, because I've read of similar issues even with the higher-priced Jawbone and BlueAnt.
