5 out of 5 stars Pleasant surprise for a Nokia user   November 8, 2008
I've been pretty loyal to Nokia for a long time, but when it came time to update my phone, there were no Nokias availible. This was the best price for the size and layout I was looking for, and I'm very happy with it.

It fills the hand without being too thick or blocky, and the keys, on the number pad and on the QWERTY keyboard, have a good feel when used. I only use it for voice and text, but it is excellent for these applications. Opening it up for the QWERTY keyboard, it has a good size and very readable screen, and the menus for the applications are fairly intuitive after a couple of missteps.

Good phone.

4 out of 5 stars nice phone   October 27, 2008

I really like this phone. It's user friendly, the reception is great, and the ringtone sounds are good as well. I am relatively new to texting on a regular basis, but I love this phone for texting. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the keypad lock is essentially useless. LG would be better off having you put in the last four digits of your number, like you have to do when you manually lock the phone, rather than just hitting OK twice that is way too easy. The first few days I had the phone I made several calls and did not realize it. I now manually lock the phone, but it'a pain when you have to go through several menus to lock the phone after every call or text.

3 out of 5 stars ENV owner "upgrades" to ENV2   October 18, 2008
Okay, so I purchased this phone to upgrade my beloved ENV original. It is SOOOOOOO much slicker looking and I read it is basically the same phone as the ENV original but better looking. It's NOT the same phone. If you did not previously own an ENV before getting the ENV2 you can't understand my complaints. This review is mostly for those who owned the ENV before. The main reason to buy the ENV/ENV2 is if you are a heavy texter. I am a heavy texter. My bottom line complaint. the ENV2 is **SLOW** the menus are SLOW the scrolling is SLOW.. when i scroll thru my contacts to select someone to txt, i am used to the snappiness of my ENV. On the ENV2 you have to wait for the menus to catch up with your scrolling. again Not a big deal if you arent a heavy txter, but that's what this phone is all about. Another annoyance.. For incoming txt messages vibrate is either ON or OFF.. Meaning.. you can't have it only beep for your txts when your master volume is high, it will beep and vibrate. If you turn that off, then when the master volume is on vibrate only, your txts won't vibrate. These 2 things are huge for avid txters like myself.. Also, I find that because of the slowness of the phone it can't keep up with my txting input speed like the old ENV. I find I have to actually slow down so it can keep up!

Summary: looks HOT!!! feels great in your hand!! slow as molasses for the non-casual serial txter.

5 out of 5 stars A texting BEAST   October 13, 2008
ok this phone is just amazing. At first i was skeptical about the looks but when you actually see it in real life its actually a great looking phone. The qwerty keyboard is awesome, the camera's great for daytime but without the flash its pretty useless at night. The mobile web is fine, not great, but good enough for how i use it. Also great call quality, a lot better than my old samsung a930 which i loved as well. Overall a great phone, the outside screen is a little bit small but it definitely gets the job done. Buy this phone, you won't regret it!

4 out of 5 stars Great phone...a couple things I don't like.   October 10, 2008
Pros:
Good call quality
Nice phone to text with if you can't afford a touch screen
You can use it as a regular phone and when you want to text open it up.

cons:
Small external screen...they could have made it slightly bigger
Space key for texting should have been in the middle of the keyboard. It is very awkward to find it with your other fingers and not your thumbs. Anyone who has had a blackberry will understand.
Speaker phone only works when phone is open.

Great phone over all. It is sturdy and even though i have dropped it couple of times already. The hinge is solid doesn't feel like it will wear out.
