1 out of 5 stars W370 takes forever to find network   July 29, 2008
1 out of 3 found this review helpful

What a pain. Every time I turned on the Motorola W370 from the time I turn it on to the time it finds the network no matter where I am, it takes a good 1 minute 45 seconds! It never got better - no matter when or where I turned it on, it would take that long before I could make a call. I cannot live with that and complained and complained to Tracfone. Yesterday, after nearly a month going back and forth, I finally was okayed for the option of changing to a comparable phone with them. I had even replaced the SIM card that they sent, but that did not work. They finally concluded that even though this phone is recommended for my zip code, that it just does not work well for me in this zip code.

I haven't decided which phone to get yet - they offered the LG225 or the Motorola W376g. Who knows if the same problem would happen again - I hope not! I would still be using my old Tracfone (Motorola 120 - no SIM card), old-fashioned, but the antenna fell after 3 years of use, no idea where all the parts went. Tracfone no longer supported that model so it was put to rest. But what a fantastic phone for me - never had a problem with it and it was a rebuilt one and free with the units I bought. As soon as I turned it on the network came right in. I haven't moved so it is strange that the Motorola W370 takes as long as it does to find the network. This is NOT normal. Otherwise the W370 was fine but I only use my cell phone to call out from when I am not home, but generally I am home.

Be so glad when this whole affair is finished. It takes its toll on your time and patience.

5 out of 5 stars Tracfone upgrade even better   July 28, 2008

I upgraded last month to the W370, and am very pleased. Volume is great, I can hear other calls in noisy rooms and the rings are loud even in my pocket. Downloadable ring tones make this a nice upgrade. I dont need the camera or the FM radio. My only request would be that the usb port be enabled to allow me to put my own ringtones on the phone. Also would like to be able to add a memory card upgrade, but overall a great phone for $29.99! I would recommend for anyone who wants a good solid flip phone.

5 out of 5 stars Y'know...I happen to like Tracfone   July 24, 2008

Unless you need a $40+ a month plan, Tracfone does it fine for me.
This phone came with the bonus "double minutes for life" and a rebate. I buy the 1 year plan, the minutes roll over and it all works just fine. The phone itself is quite fine. Compact, nice screen plenty of usable features but it's probably too basic and even laughable for the iPhone crowd. But I just need a phone, not a lifestyle statement.
I do the math and I am spending about $9 a month and I still don't use all the minutes I get. Thumbs up.

5 out of 5 stars Nice looking,works well   July 10, 2008

This is a thin very nice looking phone, almost like a razor phone.Double minutes for life is a major plus. Setting it up with Tracfone was easy,I even got my old cell phone #. Make sure you contact Tracfone first if you want to shift your number. You can do it by phone or on the Net. Another good feature is the speaker phone, which I use regularly. You can shop around for min.I got 800 plus 300 bonus min for $100,thats with the one year deal.So far I am very satisfied with Tracfone and the W370 phone. A freind of mine has been with Tracfone for years, and he also is satisfied with there service and plan.He travels quite a bit on the east coast, and hasn't had any problems with there coverage.

1 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY A TRACFONE !!!!   June 14, 2008

Can't review the phone because after one week of dealing with tracfone service reps phone still does not have a functioning phone number.God help you if you need to use their 800 number, you better be able to speak spanish because not many of their employees have a working knowledge of English.Have spoken with at least 10 different people at tracfone and have replaced sim card 4 times and phone is still unusable.STAY AWAY,VERY FAR AWAY !!
