3 out of 5 stars Great sound, poor reception   January 6, 2009
I have another pair of larger Sony bluetooth headphones (DR-BT22A) and they seem to get pretty decent reception, so I thought I would try these since they seem a little more 'action' oriented. Alas, the reception was so bad I couldn't move more than about 3 feet from my laptop before the signal would cut out. The audio quality is very impressive, as it is on my other pair of Sony bluetooth headphones. There's a fair amount of bass considering these are running on a pretty small battery and the actual earpieces aren't all that big. Unfortunately I couldn't live with the very short range so I returned them and ordered a set of "Iqua" bluetooth headphones, which I haven't gotten yet.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Headphones   December 30, 2008
I have been using these headphones for a week now and I must say that I am impressed. I have paired them seamlessly with a Blackberry Storm and a LG Venus with zero problems. I have had no disconnecting issues at all. Cutouts do begin to happen on the edge of the headphone's range, 25-30ft. Both phones find the headphones as soon as I power them on. No need to re-pair.

Sound quality was also commendable. Bass could be a little better, but I wasn't really expecting huge bass with low profile bluetooth headphones.

I went with the low profile wrap style headphones, as I will be using these for casual listening and for working out. I have a larger sized head, 7 1/4" hat size. The fit is comfortable and secure for treadmill running, even after 1 hour. The center of the neckband come to a point due to the folding option the headphones have, but it sits low enough on your neck to allow you to lay flat on your back for stretching, crunches, etc.

Ease of use is probably the biggest plus for this headset. The buttons are very well spaced and placed. All controls are on the right ear. You have a round power/pair button, a long skinny answer/make call button, a rw/ff/play/pause/stop rocker, and a volume rocker. The volume rocker has 16 different volume levels. Yes, 16! Very nice.

Documentation and battery life are also excellent. Haven't had to charge yet. The manual claims up to 11 hours of playback time and 100 hours of standby time.

For those of you having pairing or cutout issues, check to make sure that your audio device isn't the culprit before bashing any bluetooth product. Cell phone firmware is generally updated multiple times after the product originally launches. There can be drastic improvements with these updates, especially with bluetooth performance. Take your phone to your service provider and ask for the latest software update. They will provide this service free of charge.

1 out of 5 stars Not recommended   December 28, 2008
I couldn't get the bluetooth connection to work easily. It was very difficult and time consuming - trying and retrying. When it did work the folded headphone design doesn't fit tightly so there is a lot of outside noise.

I do not recommend this product except for use with a PC in a quite area. Not good for trains or for treadmills. Also you need to be very patient to get it to connect.

Surprised Sony couldn't do better.

1 out of 5 stars Not really that good.   December 27, 2008
I had several problems with it:

1. Didn't fit my head really well, and the way it pushed my ears into the "slots" made them sore. It also just didn't feel that secure on my head.
2. It paired fine, but it cuts out like I read on other reviews. I tried it on a laptop computer (Dell XPS 1330) along with a HTC Touch Pro. It cut out with both devices at random times.

I really don't have any reason to rate this product over 1 star.

However, I did buy the Sony Ericsson HBH-DS200 and that thing works great. I've never had it cut out and I pair it with the laptop and Touch Pro with no issues at all.

1 out of 5 stars Cuts out constantly   December 22, 2008
I purchased these to use with my Blackberry Storm. They pair easily enough, but the music cuts out constantly. Sometimes I'll get through about 3/4 of a song or so uninterrupted, but most of the time, it will cut out after a few seconds, pause for about 10 seconds, give me a few more seconds, etc. This happens regardless of whether the storm is in its holster or sitting in the open a few feet away. I didn't try using it for calls, as the music was hopeless. After a few days of trying various settings, etc., I gave up and returned it.
