2 out of 5 stars Stopped working   January 6, 2009
Headset stopped working after just one week. I replaced it w/ a less expensive Motorola model which works good.

4 out of 5 stars Quality Product for Less   December 2, 2008
I've used this unit for about one month. Overall, it's a great product. The signal is clear and strong. I paired it with a Samsung and a Sanyo phone. Both worked well and had clear calls. The ear piece is a little large for my ear and hurts after two days of use. I later learned that it doesn't need to be inserted into my ear as far as I had been. This reduces the ear pain significantly.

Overall, it's a great product and one that I would recommend to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars Great product for the money   October 15, 2008
I received the H680 as a gift... and what a great one it is! I have the kind of ear shape that causes my iPod earphones to constantly fall out. The earpiece in this headset STAYS ON! The earpiece itself sits comfortably in/on my ear, and sound is as clear as can be: even clearer than when I use my phone (as I have to keep moving the phone to find the speaker location). Mine has been in standby mode for the better part of 3 days. My advice is to watch both the headset and the phone, as bluetooth will wear down your cell phone's battery more quickly than usual.

4 out of 5 stars Great Audio, Annoying Fit, Hyped Specs   September 16, 2008

It has everything -- electronically -- you could ever want in a Bluetooth headset. Even older phones work well with it. MONEY Magazine not only selected the H680 as a "best buy" wireless, they named it the best in unit on the market at the time of review.

It is small, attractive, unobtrusive, with one-step auto-dial commands, easy-to-find volume controls, tough construction. It includes an AC charger and a cheap case that doubles as a storage box -- as easy to misplace as the unit itself. The 1-year warranty is competitive, although customer support is now fully automatedm which for some customers, can be galling. They might have included a car-charger, but I won't make a fuss about it. The unit has sufficient standby and use power to spare.

It's a great buy at any of the price-points amazon offers. It will easily last a year or more.

So, why four stars? Easy.

The ear hook -- and it is a hook -- is tight and inflexible, suited for those with smaller heads and ears. Both optional rubber ear-pieces are uncomfortable initially. There is a break-in period -- involving repeated uncoiling of the ear hook and continuous adjustments of the rubber ear-fittings,that is totally maddening.

Eventually -- within 7 to 10 days of adjustments, the unit fits the ear acceptably and hangs at the proper angle so residual noise is filtered-out.

I've used other Bluetooth units which, frankly, stink at double the price. I will never understand why so many electronics company miss the boat on fit -- but they do.

Having said that, I suspect there is no other wireless earphone on the market that can touch this. I will never drive with a wire again, and when this model wears out, as most do within a year or two, I will trust Motorola again for both performance and value.

Sure, there are "better" products in the category, but they run 50% more, even 100% more. For my money, the H680, despite its flaws, is just what the operator ordered. PS. Disregard the use and standby time/charge cited in the advertising. It's way, way overstated. If you buy the product, charge it at the end of each day and, if you need some standby charge, be sure to shut off the unit as often as you can during the standby period -- which will be three days at most, and probably two.

5 out of 5 stars Nice device   August 31, 2008
Very impressed with the Motorola H680. Others I've talked to when using it have made comments about how good it is at noise reduction. I got it after seeing it recommended by a magazine as best bluetooth. No problems with comfort. Only negative is that the case is a little bulky to carry around in a shirt pocket. Overall very happy with it and would recommend it.
