Compact yet powerful, the car kit provides a secure location for your device to charge while giving you full access to your music files through a wireless remote control. | The LiquidAUX Deluxe provides wireless remote control of your music files, while keeping the iPhone or iPod securely in view. | The LiquidAUX Deluxe is tailor-made for the iPhone (1G and 3G); the iPod nano (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation); all iPod generations (1st through 6th); and the iPod touch. | Installs Instantly Simply plug your iPhone or iPod into the car kit using a 3.5-mm audio cable, and then insert the kit into your in-dash auxiliary port. Within seconds, digital-quality sound will be pumping through your car's audio system. Fingertip Control The steering wheel-mounted remote control is designed to be mounted with the controls on the interior of your steering wheel. he remote conveniently allows you to play, pause, and skip music files with just your thumb, allowing you to keep your hands on the wheel. Convenience The dock adjusts to fit the iPhone and most iPod models without removing them from the case, and a smart audio sensor controls the kit's power automatically. Kensington's LiquidAUX Deluxe Auxiliary Car Kit is compatible with the iPhone (1G and 3G); iPod nano (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation); all iPod generations (1st through 6th); and iPod touch. Note: An auxiliary port in your car is required for the LiquidAUX Deluxe. Support Backed by Kensington's two-year warranty, the LiquidAUX also comes with free technical support. Important Note: Sound Effects When using an auxiliary device in the car, you might hear a slight buzzing sound, engine noise, or high-pitched whine. That is because your car model has a grounding issue between the audio system and the power socket, which causes a whining or buzzing sound when you drive. This sound is not caused by your Kensington product; however, Kensington has an easy solution. Simply purchase an automotive ground loop isolator for your car that is compatible with a 3.5-mm jack. This simple tool will enable you to use your music in a safe, hands-free environment. What's in the Box Kensington LiquidAUX Deluxe Auxiliary Car Kit, remote control, and 4-foot audio extension cable.

PERFECT for ipod Touch!! November 19, 2008 As iPod Touch users know, they are GREAT but difficult to use while driving a car.
This changes EVERYTHING
The remote works great, the ipod is securely fastened, it gets charged, it plays through the port, AMAZING!
I wasn't sure whether i should purchase because of mixed reviews, but now I don't know how I ever drove without it!
Would not hold my iPhone up. November 16, 2008 As far as actual function, this thing was great. It charged my phone, sounded great plugging into the Aux port of my '06 Impala, and the remote was awesome.
The problem, though, is that it would not hold my iPhone in place. The way the Impala is designed, the cigarette lighter ports are under the dash somewhat, and for the Kensington to work, it has to go out to the side. The Kensington couldn't handle that and the phone always ended up touching the floor.
I'm sure with other vehicles it would be fine.
Also, it was nice and tight plugging it in the first time, but after that, it was looser and looser. So much that I thought there might be an adjustment, but there wasn't.
I ended up returning the item and just bought a car charger and audio cable. I didn't like the mark that the remote control holder left on the steering wheel... it eventually went away, but the holder was only on there for a few days.
Caveat emptor! November 8, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Works as advertised, ...but wait! There's more! Adds a whole new layer of sound to your lovely mp3s: RF intererence. If you like hissing with your Steely Dan, you'll love this poorly-engineered item!
Buy Something Else: Not For iPhone?? October 31, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Been using this for three months. Looked great and a good size but I have had major issues not related to how it fits in my car (06 Honda Civic). First the rear pivot loosens over time and now there is no position other thatn flat facing up that will stay fixed. Second is the side clamp stopped working so it is not seucured in the cradle.
I have been gentle with this thing and it is clearly not wery well made. Its a shame becuase it is a giid size and design, just crappy components, except I might add, for the 3.5mm cable and the long 3.5mm extender cable that came with it. Both of these are well made.
My impression is this was made for the iTouch and they are remarketing it for the iPhone. I have both devices and the weight difference is considerable when you affix them to this unit. The iPhone just seems heavy in this cardle. One more thing to note is when you plug your iPhone on this thing a message pops up on the phone saying it is not intended for the iphone do you want to go into airplane mode or use anyway. That has been a pesky thing as well.
The remote is only good for starting and restarting songs and audio books. Takes to the end or full rewind. I was hoping to be able to scan or go back to points in audio books if I missed something. Not funtional for me, maybe beter for someoone else.
So... this unit started out ok but got progressivly worse. As I write this my unit is unusable. Let me say I am on a tight budget so I take care of my stuff, but care did not matter with my unit -- it failed due to poor craftmenship in in my opinion.
Buy something else, you wont be sorry.
A so-so product October 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pros: * Works pretty well in my Toyota Tundra after replacing the audio cable that comes with the product. * Remote works 80% of the time
Cons: * Had to replace crummy audio cable because the right channel would go out with the slightest bump of the car * Remote does not work 20% of the time (even after replacing battery) * "flexible" neck not very flexible. I can't imagine this working well in many cars other than mine.
