2 out of 5 stars works fine...at close range   December 29, 2007
1 out of 2 found this review helpful

Got this to stream wireless audio from my computer to my patio. They work fine for small speakers, but only at close range and only if there are no walls in the way. As soon as I get out of the room, the signal drops out intermittently. Forget about going outside. The patio is less than 10 feet from the computer, but signal won't go through the wall reliably. I'd guess the 10 meter range quoted on the box is a little generous.

4 out of 5 stars Just what I was looking for   May 12, 2007

These speakers were exactly what I expected and needed. So, why did I give them a 4 instead of a 5? I reserve 5 for products that exceed my expectations. Recomendations for rev.2: Add an audio out jack. I would have loved to use this to interface my phone to my stereo at home, and the speakers when away.

5 out of 5 stars very good speakers   March 30, 2007

I have the best impressions after using the speakers for about two weeks. They have reasonable sound quality for such a small size and range, the controls and the battery life are also sufficient. The software and the connectivity with the computer and mobile phones (through A2D) are also very good. Bluetooth devices is a very good idea.

4 out of 5 stars Tiny speakers rock!   March 23, 2007

Wow, these itty-bitty little speakers are very neat. The sound is better than your typical laptop and certainly louder. They are not full-on stereo speakers, let's be realistic here, but they are great for their size and intended use.

I bluetooth them to my cell phone, which I use as my ipod, and listen that way. I hang them on my fridge--the built in magnet's a neat feature--and listen when I'm in the kitchen, or use them in my hotel room as I travel frequently.

So far I haven't had the battery run down on me but I follow the instructions and turn them off (on/off switch on back) when not using them. I also have yet to sample the speaker phone capability but am anxious to do so.

Overall, they are a great little item and great for the price. They are cheaper than the Altech speakers Cingular is offering on their site, and just as good I bet...

3 out of 5 stars Sturdy but tinny sounding compared to Altec Lansing BT speakers.   March 17, 2007

I replaced a set of Altec Lansing bluetooth speakers because it had the glossy enamel type black plastic casing that smudges easily and would likely crack upon the first drop. They also did not have the external controls this item does which is very practical, nor do they have speaker grills like this one to protect the speakers. You don't need to take your phone out to change songs, control volume, pause playback, and this also includes a microphone making taking calls easier (although I personally have never used that function as I prefer calls to be private). The real drawback to this item is the fact that the sound is very tinny and sounds much much less acceptable than from the Altec Lansing that I replaced (that had rich full sound). Another thing I note is where the volume level is steady and constant on the Altec Lansing it fluctuates on this model by Blue Ant. Feature wise this speaker is ideal, but sound wise these speakers are vastly inferior. There are volume controls, pause, play, skip forward, skip back, built in mic, magnetic back, built in rechargable battery, bluetooth USB dongle for PCs, and protective speaker grill built into this item. I like the practical features but am really disappointed in the quality of the sound. Think of those cheap hand held AM radios from 20 years ago and you get the idea. I also was never able to get my PC to recognize the dongle and was never able to use it with my PC. I use this exclusively with my phone. I will also probably end up buying the Altec Lansing speakers again as I truly miss the quality sound that they procuce.
