Not one of Nokia's better efforts January 3, 2009 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
You get what you pay for,and in the case of this phone that's not much. This phone is a cheap, light weight, hard to see, and hear, plastic piece of junk.I have been happy with the numerous Nokia phones I have purchased in the past, but I think I should have spent a little more than the $36 this phone cost and upgraded to a better model Nokia. This phone might be worth $36,but i don't recommend it to anyone.Spend a little more money and get a decent phone because this one is junk.
Screen size December 16, 2008 I purchased this phone for my son, who is hard on phones. My primary goal was price. He does not use it, because he claims, when texting, the screen does not show enough of the message without scrolling. He text messages a lot, so I could see how this would be a hindrance. Beyond that, I have no other complaints.
Do you like rubbery keys? November 30, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I returned this cellphone without testing it further.
It has a nice set of features but it also has 1 feature that I really hate. The number keys are all soft and rubbery. Imagine your TV or DVD remote. It probably has rubber keys too. But the ones in your TV/ DVD remote have a springiness to them. The rubber keys on this cellphone don't have any springiness to them at all. They feel like a flat tire.
Perhaps it's superficial to complain about the keys, but it makes the phone feel very cheap and flimsy.
Simple pleasure November 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you are looking for just a simple phone without a lot of extra bells and whistles, this is great. It is easy to use, has good sound and lasts well between charges. It is small so it is very portable. I love the built in flashlight, so handy. The go-to right key is also very nice. You can put your more frequently used functions on it such as inbox, calendar, calculator, profiles etc., so you don't have to go through all the menus.
Great, no thrills phone October 6, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
The Nokia 1208 is a nice, tiny bare bones phone. I recommend it for people who just want something basic and easy to use. I bought this for my cousin, he wanted a basic phone. Thus phone is for use in North America only, and you can currently get this at most T-Mobile stores for $20, you will have to get it unlocked if you plan to use another carrier.
This phone has a speakerphone, which really isn't that good unless you are in a completely quiet room. Which puzzles me because the ring tones, at maximum level are quite loud. You get to make your own ringtones using the built in composer, and i assume you can also use mp3 tones somehow. The keyboard is covered by a flexible rubber membrane, so if you are careless with your phone you can see this one is durable.
The only faults I have with the phone is the tiny screen, and that the selection key isn't on the d-pad. This phone does not have wireless internet, but it does have text messages.
