died after 3 hours of use January 5, 2009 seems like the product died after 3 hours of use. probably the fuse burned out, but there is no way to safe open this device, i just send it back for a refund, but 5/5 to amazon and 1/5 to the product
Not so mini but quite useful December 29, 2008 As you've read from the other reviews, this isn't as "mini" as you would hope, but given it has three outlets, not sure how much smaller it could be.
Reading some of the other reviews, some people don't seem to realize the prongs can be rotated to allow the plugs to be different orientations.
I always seem to end up in meetings where outlets are scarce, so this device is worth it for that, plus hotel rooms that only seem to have one convenient outlet for my laptop, iphone, etc.
So if you can spare a little room in your travel bag, this device is well worth it.
USB Ports Won't Charge Two iPhones December 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this in the hope of reducing the number of items in my travel bag. With two iPhones and several iPods in the family, I am always taking several adapters, splitters, etc. along.
This is an okay unit, but note that it will not charge two iPhones at the same time via the USB ports, or even one iPhone and one iPod. (Two iPod minis seem to work fine.) You can obviously plug the second iPhone in via the 120v outlets, but that kind of defeats the value of the dual USB ports.
Not so mini. USB charger not compatible with iPhone! December 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm a little disappointed in this product. It's rather large for a "mini" power strip. It's more suited for slipping into your suitcase than a laptop bag. With the non-retractible plug, it's easily three inches thick. Also, the AC ports are normally spaced, so if you have a wide AC adaptor, you'll only have room for two outlets.
The biggest problem is that it won't properly recharge my iPhone 3G over USB. My phone freaks out every time I try to charge it with this strip. You know how the iPhone goes "bleep" when you start to charge it? Well it goes into charge and not charge mode about twice a second -- "bleep!" "bleep!" "bleep!" "bleep!" It charges my Samsung NV20HD digital camera over USB just fine, though.
Great Product but bad engineering December 4, 2008 While this works great for the intended purpose, the person who designed it needs to have applied a little more brain into the design of this. When plugging into a typical 2 outlet wall unit, you either have to sacrifice the usage of USB ports or sacrifice the second outlet on the wall altogether. If only the USB ports were on the side or at the bottom of this unit, this may have been more useful.
