Amazon.com Product Description
Featuring the perfect blend of broadband-like speed, dynamic multimedia capabilities, and cutting-edge design, the MOTO RAZR V3xx is the first Motorola handset to ship with High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and EDGE technology. The iconic RAZR design is still here, as is the all-metal construction, this time, though, the phone boasts an updated and streamlined design, enhanced media capabilities, a 1.30-megapixel camera, a hot-swappable MicroSD memory card slot, and more. Simply put, the V3xx is the perfect combination of performance and style, and the perfect complement to Cingular service.

Cingular, Motorola, and HSDPA high-speed data: the perfect combination.
Design
At .58 inches thick, the RAZR V3xx is virtually the same thickness as the original RAZR. And like the original RAZR, the phone's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, fully-anodized aluminum construction, and 60 MB of internal memory. A large 240 x 320 color display with over 262,000 colors dominates the inside of the top cover, while the outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary 96 x 80 full-color display that can display caller ID pictures, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The integrated VGA and 1.30-megapixel digital camera is housed above this display. Use the VGA camera for live two-way video calls at up to 15 frames per second. Up/down buttons are placed on the left side for volume control, as well as the camera button and mini-USB port.

Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's backlit control pad, which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy. A mini-USB port is provided, which, while useful for fast data transfer, can also be used with compatible USB stereo headsets. Note that the phone does not have a standard 2.5mm headset jack. Lastly, a charging port is placed on the bottom of the phone, and an unobtrusive internal antenna is safely tucked away, keeping the phone's design compact and portable.

Calling Features
The RAZR V3xx's internal phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. The phone also supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. For times when you want to be discreet, there's a vibrating alert. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear while voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names. Speaker-independent technology allows any speaker to dial numbers with the voice dialing system. And because the RAZR V3xx is Bluetooth enabled, wireless headsets for calling, and even wireless stereo headsets for music can be configured with the phone for total handsfree operation.

Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The RAZR V3xx is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. With HSDPA and EDGE technology, the RAZR V3xx delivers broadband-like speeds for downloading, Web browsing, and data exchange. Leveraging these advanced capabilities, the RAZR V3xx allows for live two-way video calls at up to 15 frames per second, over the air music and video downloads, direct media streaming, and more.

Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. And because UMTS and HSDPA support built right into the phone, you'll be streaming and downloading at speeds so fast your head will spin. Used in combination with one of Cingular's MEdia Max plans that supports Cingular Video (additional Cingular charges apply), the V3xx will allow you to play high-quality news clips, sports clips, weather clips, and more--right on your phone. And with Cingular's exclusive partnership with HBO Mobile and HBO Family Mobile, you'll never be at a loss for something good to watch.

There's also a built-in web browser for MEdia Net downloads and mobile web browsing. Cingular's MEdia Net service lets you do more than just stream videos--it lets you receive and send emails, read news headlines, get weather updates, download games and ringtones, and more. iTap text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.

Getting on the Internet is easy with the V3xx. When used with a Cingular data plan and the phone's Bluetooth or USB data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the V3xx including a calculator with currency converter, a calendar and an alarm clock. The phone can also be used with Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools PC application to manage and synchronize contacts, calendar and other data with your PC. The phone also sports an airplane mode feature, which allows the user to safely use the non-wireless functions of a phone (such as music, games, or organizer functions) on an airplane during flight.

Imaging and Entertainment
The RAZR V3xx's integrated 1.3-megapixel camera and VGA video camera bridges the gap between phones and quality digital cameras. Animated screensavers and full screen wallpapers are supported too, so you can set up the RAZR V3xx to suit your tastes. Lastly, the phone supports java-based games and applications.

The RAZR V3xx is a serious music phone. When the feeling strikes you, jam out to your favorite music on the unit's advanced MP3 player. The phone sports a microSD/TransFlash memory card slot, so you can load up all your favorite music and bring it with you (memory cards sold separately). And because the phone supports MobiTV and MobiRadio, in addition to streaming video and TV, you can listen to your favorite radio station via the supported digital radio service--great for times when you feel like listening to new music (additional Cingular charges apply).

UMTS Wireless Broadband Coverage

Warning: If you want to enjoy the full audio and video capabilities of your UMTS phone, please select a MEdia Max service plan option during checkout. If you do not sign up for a MEdia Max service plan option, you will be paying per KB when you use the over-the-air UMTS audio and video features on your phone (upwards of $10 per minute).

Vital Statistics
The Motorola RAZR V3xx weighs 3.63 ounces and measures 4.05 x 2.08 x 0.58 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 3.17 hours of digital talk time, and up to 330 hours of digital standby time. It features UMTS with HSDPA capability, and runs on the 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE and 850/1900 WCDMA frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.

4 out of 5 stars Good Phone and worth the price you pay.   April 3, 2008
This phone was to be my stand by phone until Iphone releases its 3G version, but I feel I will keep it until the end of my contract. It serves my purpose
- Making calls . good call quality, audible,no issues with signal and reception. Got 1 bar when I was in elevator and call did not get disconnected.
- Battery life . I allow it to discharge almost to 5% then charge it
back to 100%. Battery stays for 2 days with minimal usage and close to day and half with lot of usage (only calls, no browsing).

- Appearance and interface is very much improved and looks good.

I have been a loyal amazon customer for close to two years, had no issues with any of my orders. On time delivery.

Some issues I had were
- Transferring phone book. Used a software from internet to transfer from my contacts from Outlook to Phone memory.
- No CD or handsfree along with the product. Need to get it
seperately.
- very glossy, so need to clean it sometimes to remove fingerprints.

All in all a really good phone with required features.

1 out of 5 stars TRY ANOTHER PHONE   March 6, 2008
TERRIBLE PHONE, REPLACED BATTERY TWICE AND IT STILL HAS TO BE CHARGED DAILY WITH MINIMUM USE. CALLED MOTOROLA FOR HELP. CANT HELP YOU, GO BACK TO THE SELLER. NEW BATTERY DIDNT HELP. SO I HAVE TO KEEP A CHARGER WITH ME ALL THE TIME.
CANT RECEIVE OR CALL FROM MY OFFICE ( IN A BUILDING) WHILE OTHER PHONES WORK, LIKE NOKIA OR BLACKJACK.

4 out of 5 stars good phone, but deceptive   January 29, 2008
Some things people need to know about this phone.

Good: it has a 240x320 screen and better video (can play mp4 & wmv, don't have to convert to 3gp.)
Bad: VIDEO IS STILL 176x144!!!!! Even though it plays full screen, it records at this resolution and you must convert your videos to this resolution to watch them.

Good: it plays mp3s flawlessly, speaker sounds great and it even plays them through bluetooth.
Bad: listening to mp3s through bluetooth sounds like you are hearing them over a phone, however this may be a symptom of my bluetooth headset (Motorola H300.)

Good: it has 60MB onboard and an expansion slot for 2GB microSD/transflash (same thing.) It syncs easily to your (Windows) computer through mini-USB.
Bad: slow interface, and while you can access the microSD/transflash through USB (to upload/download mp3s, videos, games and pictures) you can't easily access the phone's 60GB (it can be done with third party programs but is not recommended.)

Good: it comes with java games, and it's quite easy to add more games by moving them to the microSD/transflash.
Bad: the games that come with it are crippled.

2 out of 5 stars Not quite what I hoped for   October 4, 2007

I have changed to GSM and selected the V3xx phone as the Motoroal V60 was the best phone I have ever owned. The Razr V3xx has some short commings that anyone considering it should know about. First of all you have to have the phone really centered on your ear to hear it at its best 1/4 inch makes a difference. The front screen is too small to read incoming call numbers, so it is useless for caller ID. Both inside and external screens are hard to read in bright sunlight. The srceens are great in reduced light or indoors. The start call(green) and end call(red) buttons are right next to buttons that start the AT&T browser or CV both of which will cost you if you press one by mistake and cancel as quickly as posible, you learn to look at the buttons you are pressing, not a good idea if you are driving. I have not been able to find a good blue tooth device to use while driving. I have purchased two units with built in speakers and three ear piece devices. The best is the Motorola H700 (I bought it from Amazon to avoid fake look alikes and the $99.00 asked by AT&T). The H700 is scratchy but usable in a car. The quality and volume of the blue tooth on any of the devices I have tried is about equal to the built in speaker. The last issue with the phone is battery life, if I am lucky I get two days charge on a battery. I probably place or receive four to five short calls a day. Sometimes I run out of battery on the second day, so now I just plug the phone in each night. My old phones Nokias, Motorolas, and Panasonics (all digital not GSM) lasted between one or two weeks on a charge. I guess I'll have to adjust to the new technology!
