Amazon.com Product Description
Stay in tune and connected while strolling down the street with the Motorola Motorokr S9 active Bluetooth headphones. Combining ease of use with the latest Bluetooth wireless technology, the phones are ideal for Bluetooth-enabled cell phone owners or for iPod owners with compatible adapters. The S9 phones are distinguished by a behind-the-head design that weighs just over an ounce, providing the ultimate in comfort whether you're working out or riding mass transit. The phones' ultra-compact 0.51-inch ear buds, meanwhile, fit softly in the ear even during extended use--a must for long conversations or listening sessions. And users will love the innovative touch-sensitive controls on the sides of the headband. The touch controls let you easily adjust the volume, skip or repeat tracks, or answer a phone call while on the move.

The stylish S9 wireless headphones fit comfortably behind the ear and weigh just over an once.
The S9 phones make a terrific workout partner thanks to the wireless technology and the water- and sweat-resistant design. Want to listen to your iPod at the gym without getting tangled in wires? Buy an iPod Bluetooth adapter and you're set. Alternatively, you can listen to your mobile phone's music selection during tough workouts, or even music from your home stereo while lifting weights nearby using the DC800 stereo adapter.

The phones are compatible with Bluetooth 2.0-enabled cell phones, iPods with Bluetooth adapters, and select other devices.
Phone-wise, the S9 headphones are built to provide superior call quality, less interference, and faster connections thanks to the Bluetooth 2.0 wireless technology. Class 2 Bluetooth also provides a range of up to 33 feet--enough for a variety of home and portable applications. For optimal outdoor performance, users should position the music device in close proximity to and in the line of sight of the S9's internal antenna, which is located in the base behind the user's head. Placing the music device in a front pocket is not recommended.

Other details include support for up to six hours of music listening or seven hours of talk from a single charge of the 180 mAh lithium-ion battery; a mini USB connector for charging; and a stylish black housing with red highlights. The phones measure 4.9 by 1.8 by 5.1 inches (W x H x D), weigh 1.14 ounces, and are backed by a one-year warranty.

Note: Motorola Bluetooth stereo products (headphones and adapters) are compatible with any brand of Bluetooth-enabled phone or music device that supports Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) protocols. In order for Bluetooth devices to communicate with one another, they must utilize the same Bluetooth profile. To determine the profiles supported by other Motorola devices, visit www.hellomoto.com/bluetooth. For other devices, contact the respective manufacturers. Certain Bluetooth features--including those listed--may not be supported by all compatible Bluetooth-enabled devices, and/or the functionality of such features may be limited in certain devices or by certain wireless carriers. Contact your wireless carrier about feature availability and functionality.

1 out of 5 stars trash   August 22, 2008
Worked OK for about 6 mo. then wouldn't charge. Called support they said, send it back. Packed up everything, headset, charger, manual, in orig. box, sent it back. They send back headset only, no charger, can't charge. Call support again, they say, sorry, will send charger 2nd day express - three days ago.
Meanwhile, charge headset using USB from computer which they say not to do, although charger has a USB plug. Works for 5 to 40 minutes then dies.

3 out of 5 stars Don't SWEAT in them!   August 19, 2008
These were purchased for the purpose of exercising in, which I'm sure is the reason most people purchase them. They're pretty pricey and are great until...you sweat! Then the volume stops working right, among other things. So my suggestion for any future purchaser would be, PLEASE don't waste your money unless you intend on keeping them 100 percent dry ALL the time.

1 out of 5 stars **NOT** designed for active users   August 18, 2008
This product is absolutely false advertising. One of their product features described on Motorola's website for S9:
--> Water and sweat resistant

I bought this item for the main purpose of working out and it was a complete disappointment. I already own a Motorola HT820 for years and I've had no problem using it during my workouts and runs. The only thing that is somewhat anoying with the HT820 is the fact it's a little bulky on the ears when running. When the S9 came out and I saw this *sweat resistant* feature, I decide to get it. Boy was I wrong in making that decision. It was fine working with my laptop and my phone without doing any activity. I then went on for a long run and I was sweaty. Guess what - The headset's volume went all the way down to min and I had no way to adjust it upward. All my volume buttons were completely broken (shorted out). Pressing on them would not yield any result. After spending a lot of time thinking that it was my phone and tried to fix my phone, I tested with bluetooth from my laptop and I came to conclusion that something was wrong with the S9. I started googling around and sure enough, I found numerous other users having the exactly same issue:

http://blog.treonauts.com/2007/05/treo_a2dp_stere.html.

So bewarned: Sweat and your headset is gone. Don't even think about the rain.

I had no doubt that if I contacted S9 and got another pair, I would have run into the exact same problem since other people tried that solution already and nothing was better after getting their 2nd or 3rd pair.

Motorola. Fix the product feature description to reflect what your product can really do!

2 out of 5 stars Fail: Wait for the next version   August 11, 2008
I bought these because they were the highest rated Bluetooth headphones on CNET and a few other electronics sites, but they fall short of my expectations. I'm pairing mine with a Motorola RAZR V3xx phone so there should be no compatibility issues. If this is the best available I would wait for the next generation before I would consider buying any Bluetooth headphones

The Good:

*Sound quality and range are excellent.

*They are light weight

*Battery life

The bad:

*They fit don't well. All the reviews said people with big heads have problems, but I have a average to small size head and they didn't fit me well either.

The Ugly:

*It is impossible to resume play after receiving a call, pausing on the handset (pausing on the headphone control works), and sometimes after last song in playlist is played. In all of these situations the sound cuts out erratically until I turn off the headphones, turn them back on, and allow them to reconnect to the handset. I thought my headphones were broken, but Motorola person I called said this behavior was normal.

1 out of 5 stars Not for outdoors! Gym use only!   August 11, 2008
Nice idea, but the product simply doesn't work more than a couple of feet away from the device if used outdoors.

Jogging, snowboarding, etc. Music cuts in and out constantly.

Look elsewhere if you play sports!
